The Berlin-based product designer Dirk Winkel designs the w224 Alto pendant lamp for Swedish lighting company Wästberg. The lamp features a small cylindrical body with four multidirectional COB LEDs providing 11,000lm indirect dimmable light, creating a very wide-angle, even light distribution that can illuminate a large room. A distinctive heatsink made from a single piece of solid die-cast aluminium manages heat via a geometric arrangement of pins. Photograph © Simon Menges. Wästberg
